According to research, Soy milk was able to reduce the risk of colon cancer by up to 44 percent. In addition, consumption of soy sauce can also reduce the risk of breast cancer by up to 36 percent.

The benefits of soy for people with cancer are also supported by a diet that only consumes foods derived from vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds.

Meanwhile, animal products, be it poultry meat, livestock meat, fish meat, milk, eggs and various processed products, are no longer consumed at all.

1. Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are important sources of nutrition. Try to eat at least 5 servings of colorful fruits and vegetables every day. This includes a medium apple, banana, 3 cups of cooked vegetables and a bowl of salad.

A few tips for adding an extra serving of fruit or vegetables at every meal:

  • Add fruit to whole-grain cereal at breakfast.
  • Add carrots and celery for lunch.
  • Add beans, mushrooms or chopped vegetables in soups and curries.

2. Eat More Whole Grains

Whole grain foods contain fiber and nutrients that can help keep you full longer and maintain a healthy weight. The fiber present in whole oats can also reduce the risk of colon cancer.

Some simple ways to incorporate whole grains into your diet are choosing brown whole-grain bread, brown rice, whole-wheat pasta, whole-grain cereals, and adding barley to soups and stews.

3. Limit Consumption of Processed Meat

Eating a lot of processed and red meat can increase the risk of colon cancer and pancreatic cancer. In addition, processed meats are generally high in calories, thereby contributing to weight gain.

Processed meats include ham, sausage, salami and bacon. So, try to eat less red meat and processed meat.

Healthier protein food choices include fish, legumes, chicken and eggs.

4. Reduce Preservative Foods

Foods preserved with salt can increase the risk of stomach cancer, which include salted beef, salted fish and some pickled vegetables. Choose foods that use less salt.

  • Being overweight or obese can also increase the risk.
  • Moderate physical activity can help prevent breast cancer.
  • Breastfeeding may play a role in prevention.
  • Fill half your plate with colorful vegetables, 1/4 with a high-fiber whole grain food like brown rice or whole wheat pasta and 1/4 with a healthy protein food like fish, chicken or beans.
  • Early diagnosis is key in treating breast cancer and ensuring its success.

Now, that’s a discussion about how a healthy diet plays a role in reducing the risk of breast cancer. In addition to maintaining your diet, it’s a good idea to keep checking with your doctor to detect early whether there is cancer in the body.
