A study revealed that a person diagnosed with type 2 diabetes before the age of 40 is 2.5 times more likely to die before the age of 75; when compared to people diagnosed in their 60s.

In this study it was revealed that participants who came from South Asia and had a high body mass index (BMI) were very susceptible to developing diabetes at a young age.
